Answered Prayer

Answered Prayer

If God really loves me, why doesn’t he answer my prayers?

God’s Response

The two sisters sent a message to Jesus telling him, “Lord, your dear friend is very sick.”But when Jesus heard about it he said, “Lazarus’s sickness will not end in death. No, it happened for the glory of God so that the Son of God will receive glory from this.” So although Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, he stayed where he was for the next two days. John 11:3-6

What do you do when God seems to be silent? When you think that God is refusing to answer, he may be telling you “no”—and you don’t want to hear it—or he may simply be waiting for his perfect timing to send you his answer. Mary and Martha didn’t understand why Jesus didn’t answer their prayer to come and heal their brother. Jesus waited because he had an answer better than anything they could imagine. God’s answer will come—and it may be better than your best dreams.
