A Clear Conscience

A Clear Conscience

Can I keep a clear conscience?

God’s Response

I will maintain my innocence without wavering. My conscience is clear for as long as I live. Job 27:6

I always try to maintain a clear conscience before God and all people. Acts 24:16

One person believes it’s all right to eat anything. But another believer with a sensitive conscience will eat only vegetables. Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them. Romans 14:2-3

The best way to keep a clear conscience is to steer clear of actions forbidden by Scripture. Sometimes, however, Scripture is silent, and then you should follow your conscience. When God shows you that something is wrong for you, avoid it, but don’t look down on other Christians who exercise freedom in those areas.

This Is Promising

My conscience is clear, but that doesn’t prove I’m right. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide. 1 Corinthians 4:4
