Suffering
Suffering
If I know I’m suffering because of past sins, has God forgiven me?
God’s Response
I assure you that any sin can be forgiven. Mark 3:28
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. . . . He has not punished us for all our sins, nor does he deal with us as we deserve. Psalm 103:3, 10
If we say we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. 1 John 1:8-9
Forgiveness means that God looks at you as though you had never sinned. If you honestly confess your sins to God, you can be sure that he will forgive you. However, God designed the world to follow natural laws. When these laws are broken, there are consequences that you may still have to endure. Try to do so with patience and humility, since you can be sure that God has forgiven you and no longer counts your sins against you.
God’s Promise
I—yes, I alone—am the one who blots out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again. Isaiah 43:25
