Suffering

Suffering

Can any good come from my suffering?

God’s Response

We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us. 2 Corinthians 1:7

Since I know it is all for Christ’s good, I am quite content with my weaknesses and with insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10

Sometimes you suffer from facing the consequences of your own sin. At other times, suffering occurs because of events outside your control. Regardless of the reasons behind it, your faith is tested when you are suffering. During the hard times, your character is stretched and you are actively learning and growing.

God’s Challenge

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us—they help us learn to endure. And endurance develops strength of character. Romans 5:3-4
