How can I pray for my country?

God’s Response

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. As you make your requests, plead for God’s mercy upon them, and give thanks. Pray this way for kings and all others who are in authority, so that we can live in peace and quietness, in godliness and dignity. 1 Timothy 2:1-2

May you hear the humble and earnest requests from me and your people Israel when we pray toward this place. Yes, hear us from heaven where you live, and when you hear, forgive. 1 Kings 8:30

When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily. Proverbs 28:2

Pray for your nation. Pray that it will be protected by God’s mighty hand. Pray for your leaders to be humble and wise, able to discern right from wrong, and to be champions of the needy and helpless. A nation that condones and endorses immorality is subject to judgment and will eventually collapse from the inside out. A nation that collectively worships the one true God will stand firm.

God’s Promise

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
