Can I experience true refreshment in my times of rest?

God’s Response

It is a permanent sign of my covenant with them. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, but he rested on the seventh day and was refreshed. Exodus 31:17

The LORD replied, “I will personally go with you, Moses. I will give you rest—everything will be fine for you.” Exodus 33:14

I lay down and slept. I woke up in safety, for the LORD was watching over me. Psalm 3:5

Rest is only refreshing when you truly set aside your work and your worries. Rest is physically, mentally, and psychologically refreshing; a healthy body, mind, and emotions make us more productive. Rest is also spiritually refreshing; a healthy soul allows us to fully focus on God. Above all, rest reminds us that we depend on God’s provision, not on our own efforts.
