What’s Your Next Goal?
What’s Your Next Goal?
After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the LORD or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel. Judges 2:10
A dominant Old Testament theme is the people’s on-again, off-again relationship with God. In this instance, Joshua had just died, and there was no apparent leader to take his place.
The Israelites had finally reached the land they had been promised, and their focus had shifted from wilderness survival to inhabiting the land. They were ready to grow into the nation God had promised Abram hundreds of years earlier.
Their lives were easier now than at any time since they had entered Egypt under Joseph’s supervision. They weren’t scrambling for manna every morning; they were building towns and clearing fields. Things were looking good.
They had succeeded and had begun to coast.
As a leader, keep your eye on the next challenge. Celebrate when your team reaches an objective, and then help them focus on the next goal.
What’s next for your organization? What will your focus be when current goals are achieved?
