Stop Being So Nice

You think you are so wise, but you enjoy putting up with fools! You put up with it when someone enslaves you, takes everything you have, takes advantage of you, takes control of everything, and slaps you in the face. 2 Corinthians 11:19-20

When did “turn the other cheek” become a mandate to roll over and play dead rather than face up to bullies and chronic complainers?

Being a leader includes good stewardship of the time you have. That means doing something about people whose primary objective is to waste your time.

Paul urges us to avoid these people; he also scolds us for enjoying the distractions they bring.

You know who these people are. Confront them privately. Bring someone along and tell them they are no longer allowed to waste the time God has given you to accomplish his work.

Answer their questions and hear their concerns in private. Once their questions are answered, warn them that they will not be allowed to derail the next meeting with the same questions.

Stop being so nice.
