Soar With The Eagles
Soar with the Eagles
Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. Isaiah 40:31
While hiking in the Big Horn Mountains, I was privileged to watch a bald eagle swoop down to snatch a rabbit.
The bird was awesome. While the rabbit struggled, the eagle pumped its massive wings and lifted off. I watched it until I could no longer see what was happening.
That’s the image I’ve always had when reading this verse. I would get weary, trust God for strength, and he’d swoop down to carry me.
But read it again.
He gives me strength. It’s my wings he makes strong. He’s not giving me a ride. He’s making me strong so I can finish the assignment.
This is great news for you. If you’re like most leaders, you are a doer. The idea of being carried isn’t high on your list of enjoyable activities. You like being in the driver’s seat.
God knows how you’re wired. He wants to renew your strength. He wants to watch you “soar high on wings like eagles.”
