Listen! A farmer went out to plant some seeds. As he scattered them across his field, some seeds fell on a footpath. . . . Other seeds fell on shallow soil. . . . Other seeds fell among thorns. . . . Still other seeds fell on fertile soil. Matthew 13:3-8

The candidate ran unopposed on the ballot. Nevertheless, she made public appearances and ran as if there were stiff opposition. In the end, she received 76 percent of the vote. Whom did the other 24 percent choose?

A few years ago, many people were reading the Left Behind fiction series. Each release became an overnight best seller. Despite tremendous success, overall sales were in the sixty-million range. This was less than half of the 125 million who consider themselves Christians in the United States.

My point is that you will never reach 100 percent of the people. However hard you try and however good your product is, some of your seeds will fall on infertile soil.

Jesus counseled his disciples to pay attention to the seeds that had a chance.

That’s good advice for you, as well.
