Slow Down And Prepare

When this happened, I did not rush out to consult with any human being. Nor did I go up to Jerusalem. . . . Instead, I went away into Arabia, and later I returned to the city of Damascus. Then three years later I went to Jerusalem. Galatians 1:16-18

A common assumption is that Paul began his ministry immediately after his Damascus Road experience. In fact, he spent three years in seclusion, getting ready for what lay ahead.

He didn’t rush.

He knew how important the job was and took time to prepare.

Most projects that are rushed to market either fail or need to be fixed soon after they get off the ground. The more time you take to plan a project, the greater the likelihood it will be successful.

I’m not suggesting that protracted planning cycles will save a bad idea, nor am I advocating multiple unnecessary reviews, but taking appropriate care in planning and preparing is a practice we don’t see enough of these days.

Slow down; life is too important to rush.
