Show Hospitality To Strangers

Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers. Hebrews 13:2

We all like to feel welcome.

One of the hotels I stay at has their computer system set up to recognize returning guests so the desk clerk can acknowledge them.

When my colleague and I arrived for an appointment at a large Southern California ad agency, our names were on a welcome screen in the lobby.

First-time visitors at our church receive a loaf of freshly baked bread when they stop at the information kiosk.

The early church was growing rapidly. You never knew who was or wasn’t a believer, so the author of the book of Hebrews encouraged Christians to show hospitality to everyone.

How does your organization treat visitors and newcomers?

Do you have helpful signs so those unfamiliar with your facility can find their way around? Is your reception area inviting? Is your telephone answering system user friendly?

When Internet users visit your Web site, can they easily find what they’re looking for, such as your phone number and mailing address?

How clean is your welcome mat?
