Share Your Joys

Share Your Joys

Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. . . . Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9,12

This scripture is often used to encourage people to find someone with whom they can share accountability. Here is another application that you may not have considered:

Success is a lot more enjoyable when you share it with someone.

The author of Ecclesiastes had observed a person who “works hard to gain as much wealth as he can” only to realize that he’s been “giving up so much pleasure” by working alone (4:8).

Are there people in your life with whom you can share the fruit of your labor? Are you working too hard to enjoy the harvest of your efforts? What good is all the sweat, if all you do at the end is turn it over to someone else?

To paraphrase the book of Ecclesiastes, God gave you a life to enjoy, and you can only do that while you’re alive, so start enjoying it now.
