The overwhelming buzz was negative. Trade journals panned the ideas, and loyal customers spoke openly against them.

Nearly all the criticism was unfounded.

Human nature will always assume the worst. In an information vacuum, people will invent a negative scenario. You may have the best intentions and the most solid plan, but if you don’t tell your own story, others will make one up for you.

The apostles were launching a controversial new idea. Until Peter stepped up to explain what was happening, the buzz was overwhelmingly negative.
