Pay The Price

Then Samuel said to all the people of Israel, “If you are really serious about wanting to return to the LORD . . .” 1 Samuel 7:3

An accomplished pianist was playing one day for a friend, who remarked, “I would give anything to play the piano like that.”

The musician answered, “No, you wouldn’t.” He described the sacrifices of time, relationships, and opportunities he had paid to become the virtuoso he was.

Success had come at a great cost, which he gladly paid because he was serious about being excellent in his chosen field.

When the people of Israel told Samuel what they wanted, he judged their sincerity by the price they were willing to pay.

Being a leader does not come without a price tag. Have you considered the cost? Are you serious about wanting to succeed?
