Nourish Your Mind

Nourish Your Mind

The people of Israel feed on the wind. Hosea 12:1

In the 2004 film documentary Super Size Me, Morgan Spurlock eats nothing but fast food for thirty days, with a profoundly negative effect on his physical health.

Just as your physical health is affected by the food you eat, what you feed your mind affects your intellectual health.

Our minds are often centered on the consumption of garbage.

God complained to Hosea that his people were not feeding their minds at all. They weren’t taking in garbage—they weren’t taking in anything.

Unfortunately, this malnutrition of the mind is common. In our rush to get things done, we relegate intellectual health to the back burner. We don’t take time to feed our minds because our to-do lists are too long.

Where does intellectual nourishment stand on your list of priorities?

Your mind is a terrible thing to waste.
