Notice God’s Work

We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28

Examples of this passage in action run the gamut from hardly believable to barely noticeable. Some people practice what a friend calls “God watching,” which is looking back over a situation to identify God’s touch in it.

The more my friend looks for God in past events, the easier it is for him to see God’s hand at work as things unfold. It’s like wearing a special set of glasses that reveal God in the midst of all the dust and noise.

This promise can help you make confident decisions when the future is unclear. Knowing that God is superintending the process reduces the worry of making a bad choice or going in the wrong direction.

The apostle Paul says the Holy Spirit prays on our behalf when we don’t know what to ask God for.

There’s no reason to feel as if the decision is all on your shoulders.
