There seems to be too much emphasis these days on always needing to get something of value in return for a favor. I’m a classic networker, and more often than not, people think there are strings attached to my referrals. There aren’t. All I ask is that you mention my name to the contact so they know where the referral came from. I know the favor will come back some day. It happens regularly.
