Improve Your Writing Skills

Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous. Romans 5:19

In Romans 5:12-21, Paul presents the difference between Adam and Christ in an amazingly well-structured argument. Take a moment to read it. You’ll be blown away by how thoroughly Paul covers the bases.

Paul exhibits strong communication skills as he conveys spiritual truth in this passage. His argument flows easily from one point to the next, he anticipates questions and answers them in context, and he leaves nothing unfinished.

I encourage you to pay more attention to the quality of your communication. Too many leaders take this for granted. Organizing your thoughts and writing well are important aspects of leadership that often take a backseat to the more urgent matters of budgets, operations, and problem solving.

Take a course in business writing. Have someone proofread your letters for clarity, grammar, and logic. Be critical of your arguments.

Great ideas won’t go far if they’re hidden behind a muddled line of reasoning.
