Finish Your Work
Finish Your Work
God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished. Philippians 1:6
The trouble with visionaries is that we see the ending before we get there. We don’t pay much attention to details, so the last coat of paint doesn’t always get applied.
This lack of attention can be discouraging to the folks who follow us. Their job is to get things done, and when we don’t show any interest in completing the job, they wonder whether their work is appreciated or not.
Paul assured his readers that God can be relied upon to finish what he starts. The lesson for leaders is that we need to reassure people that we place a high value on completed tasks.
If you have trouble crossing the finish line, find someone you can rely on to bring the job home. Celebrate enthusiastically when tasks are completed.
The only reason to begin a project is to enjoy the benefit of having completed it.
