Be Rich In Good Works
Be Rich in Good Works
Tell [those who are rich] to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. 1 Timothy 6:18
A pastor friend of mine has a parishioner who is loaded.
Last week, this guy stopped by the church, handed one-hundred-dollar bills to everyone on the staff (it’s a big church), and said, “You can do anything you want with this money, as long as it includes taking your spouse to a restaurant for a nice meal.”
He doesn’t stop with personal gifts. He has organized a group of wealthy friends who pool their resources to tackle bigger issues at the church.
You don’t need to be wealthy to do good. Many people of lesser means make a difference with what they have, but Paul is speaking specifically to those who are financially successful.
Perhaps you have been blessed with more than you could possibly need. You are in a unique position to encourage others of similar circumstance to join you in good works.
Make the call.
