Change the Way You Think

Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Romans 12:2

At the end of Reggie McNeal’s intense two-day seminar on the future of the church, my brain was tired. Reggie has more energy than a sack of wet cats, and listening to him talk about where God might be leading the church was physically and emotionally draining.

Rather abruptly, he slowed his pace, lowered his voice, and said he had one last question to ask. He warned us that the question would haunt us, then brought the slide up and just let it soak in:

“What has Jesus changed your mind about lately?”

My first reaction was, “Hey, that’s easy. I’m an idea guy. I am always coming up with new ideas.” But the more I pondered it, the more the question bugged me.

Paul isn’t suggesting that I learn a new way to communicate with people. He isn’t talking about the type of music I like or even the Bible translation I use.
