Find The Sweet Spot

Find the Sweet Spot

Jesus sent out the twelve apostles with these instructions: “Don’t go to the Gentiles . . . but only to the people of Israel.” Matthew 10:5-6

A baseball bat has an area called the sweet spot. The September 1998 edition of the American Journal of Physics locates it “about 17 cm from the end of the barrel, where the shock of the impact . . . is reduced to such an extent that the batter is almost unaware of the collision.”

Players who hit the ball in the sweet spot are reportedly able to drive it farther. This isn’t the only place on the bat to hit the ball, but doing so increases the chance of success.

New products or ideas may have broad appeal, but you’ll increase their potential for success if you identify those most likely to buy what you have to sell.

Jesus’ message was for everyone, but he began in the sweet spot, with those who already had an affinity with his Father, Yahweh.

Don’t spread your initial marketing efforts over too wide an audience. Look for the sweet spot and swing for the fence.
