Find A Quiet Place
Find a Quiet Place
The apostles returned to Jesus from their ministry tour and told him all they had done and taught. Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” Mark 6:30-31
I can’t think of a stronger endorsement for the value of corporate retreats than Jesus’ taking his team to a quiet place to rest awhile.
Jesus knew his time was limited, and he knew the tremendous task facing his disciples. Yet he suggested that they go on a retreat.
Your calendar is packed from now until the pages run out. Everyone on the team is busy. There is no way you can possibly schedule a retreat.
I’ve heard all the excuses and made a few of them myself. None of the reasons for avoiding a retreat stand up to Jesus’ example.
Are you serious about asking, “What would Jesus do?”
Get out your calendar, call your lead team together, and schedule a time to find a quiet place to rest awhile.
