Explain Your Reasons

Explain Your Reasons

Look! I am about to cover the earth with a flood that will destroy every living thing that breathes. Genesis 6:17

A trait that sets humans apart from animals is their need to ask why. We have an intrinsic need to have things explained to us.

Britt Beemer, a nationally renowned consumer-research specialist, says shoppers will react more positively to a sale if there is a reason for it. Beemer’s research has shown that you’ll get better results from a “Spring Sale” than you will from a “(no name) sale” that happens to run at the same time.

People have a subconscious need to know why you are running a sale. God understood this and made sure that Noah knew why he was building the ark.

Perhaps you are trying to get your staff, customers, or organization to move on a certain project. Take the time to explain why you’re asking them to do this. It’s especially necessary when you are asking them to do something they have never done before—such as build an ark.
