God was getting ready to carry out his plan to wipe the earth clean of evil, which was something he had never done before.

His man on the job was making final preparations for the world-changing event, and God took time to explain the details of his plan to Noah.

It isn’t mentioned, but we can assume the ark generated some curiosity in the region. As his point person on the project, God knew that Noah would be answering some interesting questions from the locals, so he gave Noah a step-by-step timeline for what was going to happen.

If you are embarking on a controversial new activity, make sure the people on the front lines know what is going to happen. If you have a spokesperson, give them everything they need to do their job, because providing half an answer is worse than no answer, and no answer is pretty bad.
