Don’t Be Greedy
Don’t Be Greedy
I have more than enough. Genesis 33:11
I may lose you on this one, and if I do, thanks for sticking around this long.
There is a tragic tendency among many people in leadership positions to measure success by the amount of stuff they accumulate over time.
Being first has taken precedence over being excellent.
Having enough has been replaced by wanting more.
There is nothing intrinsically improper about desiring more, but the levels to which we take this have exacted a horrible toll from families, faith, and personal health.
Perhaps you are at a crossroads on this issue right now. Take heart in realizing that you are not alone. There is a strong current of disillusionment among people who have been taught to always stay one step ahead.
I’ll bet that it wouldn’t take too long for you to find a kindred spirit if you just started adding this simple phrase to your conversation with friends: “I’m beginning to think I have more than enough.”
You may be amazed at the reaction you get.
