Communicate Your Legacy

Communicate Your Legacy

This is the written account of the descendants of Adam. Genesis 5:1

I was employee number fourteen at a company that grew to have more than one hundred employees in less than three years.

Before long, people who had been with us less than a year outnumbered the old-timers, and that posed a problem.

The company’s founder was a visionary, charismatic entrepreneur. Our first employees had a personal connection with the passion that drove him.

The recent hires did a great job, but their passion for our mission was missing. They knew where we were going, but they didn’t know how we had gotten to where we were or what made us tick.

We asked some old-timers to design a company museum that captured our legacy. The result was a stream of passion that extended from the most senior to the most recent members of the team.

Moses kept a historical record so those who came later would know how they got to where they were.

Does your newest hire know how you got where you are today?
