Be A Party Animal

Be a Party Animal

Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. Nehemiah 8:10

Contrary to conventional wisdom, Yahweh is quite a party animal.

All through the Old Testament, he encouraged the Israelites to celebrate, without being picky about the guest list. When the people had reason to be joyful, God wanted them to share with everyone—even those who came to the party unprepared.

When you have something to celebrate, bring as many people to the party as possible. Folks appreciate being part of a winning team.

Look for ways to thank each person who had a role in the project, even those who had nothing to do with the work, but will now enjoy the benefits.

Don’t withhold your magnanimity. This isn’t a time to boast or be self-important. It’s a time to say, “We are excited, and we want to share our joy.”

When there’s good news to be celebrated, make your motto “The more the merrier.”
