Be A Good Servant

You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. Matthew 20:25-27

I love the line in the middle of this passage:

“Among you it will be different.”

You are called to be a different type of leader.

Good servants anticipate the needs of those they serve. They don’t wait to be asked, but look ahead for ways they can help others.

Slaves can’t demand their own way. They humbly do whatever is needed to get the job done.

“Among you it will be different.”
