A Special Invitation

Read Proverbs 9

“Come in with me,” she urges the simple. To those who lack good judgment, she says, “Come, eat my food, and drink the wine I have mixed.”

Proverbs 9:4-5

An invitation has arrived in the mail. The whole town has been invited to a huge banquet! We excitedly rush to get dressed in our best clothes. At the last minute, we call our best friend or loved one to check on the time. To our dismay, he tells us he is too busy––he isn’t going to the banquet!

In this same way, God has prepared a banquet for each one of us. If we choose to go, God offers us food unlike any other––his wisdom. And God’s wisdom nourishes us completely. However, some of us never take the time to reply to his generous invitation.

Don’t let any other pursuit in your life cause you to ignore the invitation of wisdom God has for you. All that God requires is a response.
