Waiting On The Lord Each Morning

Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning,

for I am trusting you.

Show me where to walk,

for I give myself to you.

Rescue me from my enemies, LORD;

I run to you to hide me.

Teach me to do your will,

for you are my God.

May your gracious Spirit lead me forward

on a firm footing.

Psalm 143:8-10

It’s autumn, and there’s a wonderful crispness in the air. The mornings are brisk and invigorating, and it’s delightful to walk through the fallen leaves while they’re still damp from the dew. On such a morning, it’s easy to feel God’s nearness. It may have been a morning like this when David prayed, “Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.” David longed to have fellowship with God every morning. He wanted God’s Spirit to lead him to a path where he could find a firm footing.

Determine to start each morning with the Lord. At that time, ask God to direct your every step throughout the day.
