Praying For Spiritual Wisdom

So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.

Colossians 1:9

A mother with a newborn daughter showers an extraordinary amount of attention on her young child, and justifiably so. She keeps the child nearby and answers her every cry. Paul treated the Colossians as if he were their parent. Although he was under house arrest in Rome, his concern for their spiritual upbringing was evident in the tender way in which he pleaded with God the Father to give the Colossians spiritual wisdom. This spiritual wisdom is a gift from God.

Like Paul, we too ought to ask for wisdom for ourselves and the ones we love. Let Paul’s love for the Colossians inspire you to pray for other believers who need God’s wisdom in the situations they are facing.
