Searching For The Lord

Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness.

Let the whole world know what he has done.

Sing to him; yes, sing his praises.

Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.

Exult in his holy name;

Rejoice, you who worship the LORD.

Search for the LORD and for his strength;

continually seek him.

Remember the wonders he has performed,

his miracles, and the rulings he has given.

Psalm 105:1-5

Small crises can set us on a frantic search. Losing a ring or a key can set us on a search that leaves no sofa cushion unturned. The quest for a missing child can make the evening news and tie up an entire police department. But the psalmist speaks of a search that probably won’t make the evening news: the search for the living God. In this prayer, the psalmist led God’s people in thanking and praising the Lord for the wonderful things he had done for them. He encouraged God’s people to search out the ways God was working in their lives and thank him for it.

What a marvelous search! Before you move ahead in the promise of this new spring month, search your life for the delightful blessings God has given you.
