Publishing God’s Glorious Deeds

Publishing God’s Glorious Deeds

Sing to the LORD; praise his name.

Each day proclaim the good news that he saves.

Publish his glorious deeds among the nations.

Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.

Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise!

He is to be feared above all gods.

The gods of other nations are mere idols,

but the LORD made the heavens!

Honor and majesty surround him;

strength and beauty fill his sanctuary.

Psalm 96:2-6

Before dawn every day, newspapers lie on virtually every doorstep to greet the person inside with the day’s news. If only the Good News, that Jesus came to save sinners, were published and distributed just as widely as the dismal news of our daily newspapers! The psalmist committed himself to publishing the great deeds of God each day. As God’s people, we need to hear again and again about God’s saving grace and tell it to the world around us as well.

Determine to start every morning by thinking of something God has done for you—how he created a brand-new day for you to enjoy, how he has saved you and given you food and shelter. Then find a way that day to publish God’s wonderful deeds—to tell someone else about what he has done.

  • Great God, I will publish your glorious deeds among the nations . . .
