Praise To The God Who Is Everywhere

I can never escape from your Spirit!

I can never get away from your presence!

If I go up to heaven, you are there;

if I go down to the grave, you are there.

If I ride the wings of the morning,

if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

even there your hand will guide me,

and your strength will support me.

Psalm 139:7-10

David knew that it is both a wonderful and a fearful thing to realize that God is everywhere. We will never escape his presence. Sometimes, in our human weakness, we actually might try. Perhaps it is because we have a guilty conscience or are reluctant to carry out a task to which he has called us. Like Jonah, we seek to run away. But no one can run from the omnipresent God. Even if we were to “go down to the grave,” God would be there. There is no life circumstance too dark for the light of God to penetrate. No matter where the consequences of our sins might take us, we can never travel beyond the range of his love.

Praise the Lord for being with you right now. Ask him to guide you into his righteous ways.
