Proclaiming God’s Greatness

Proclaiming God’s Greatness

Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness.

Let the whole world know what he has done.

Sing to him; yes, sing his praises.

Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.

Exult in his holy name;

rejoice, you who worship the LORD.

Search for the Lord and for his strength;

continually seek him.

Remember the wonders he has performed,

his miracles, and the rulings he has given.

1 Chronicles 16:8-12

After his army soundly defeated the Philistines, David paraded the symbol of God’s presence—the Ark of the Covenant—throughout the city of Jerusalem. He established its new resting place in a temporary “tent” in Jerusalem. In honor of the Lord’s victory, David’s priestly choir sang out their praise to “let the whole world know what he has done.” It was a momentous day for the people of Jerusalem, and David made sure everyone knew it by loudly praising God, their Victor.

If people heard only the praise we give the Lord, would that be enough to give them a sense of God’s greatness? Boldly proclaim God’s greatness today.

  • Mighty God, I give thanks to you and proclaim your greatness . . .
