Trusting In The Midst Of Troubles
Trusting in the Midst of Troubles
Listen to my prayer, O God.
Do not ignore my cry for help!
Please listen and answer me,
for I am overwhelmed by my troubles.
My enemies shout at me,
making loud and wicked threats.
They bring trouble on me and
angrily hunt me down. . . .
Oh, that I had wings like a dove;
then I would fly away and rest!
I would fly far away
to the quiet of the wilderness.
Psalm 55:1-3, 6-7
Do you ever wish you could fly like a bird away from your problems? David did. He was completely overwhelmed by his troubles. His enemies were hunting him down and shouting loud threats at him. With his world falling apart, David was terrified that death might overpower him, and he wished he had the wings of a dove so he could fly away from his troubles to a quiet place, where he could rest. Yet even in his worst difficulties, David called upon God to rescue him.
Are you overwhelmed by troubles? Give your burdens to the Lord, and determine today to trust the Lord to save you.
