Praising God For Keeping His Promises

Praising God for Keeping His Promises

I will praise the LORD as long as I live.

I will sing praises to my God even with my dying breath.

Don’t put your confidence in powerful people;

there is no help for you there. . . .

But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper,

whose hope is in the LORD their God.

He made heaven and earth,

the sea, and everything in them.

He keeps every promise forever.

Psalm 146:2-6

All of us have been let down by someone. A friend or family member may have broken an important promise. A respected church leader may have fallen into sin. Through these experiences, we learn that we can’t depend completely on other people, because sometimes they don’t follow through on their promises. The writer of this prayer calls upon people to put their confidence in God, not in other people, for the Lord is always faithful. The sky above and the earth below are tokens of God’s unfailing love for his people. God is faithful to keep the world going for yet another day, and he will be faithful to care for his people.

Take a few minutes to render praise to God for being faithful to you.

  • Dear Lord, you keep every promise forever . . .
