Praise To Our Redeemer

Praise to Our Redeemer

Has the LORD redeemed you? Then speak out!

Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.

For he has gathered the exiles from many lands,

from east and west,

from north and south.

Some wandered in the wilderness,

lost and homeless.

Hungry and thirsty,

they nearly died.

LORD, help!” They cried in their trouble,

and he rescued them from their distress.

Psalm 107:2-6

Not many of us have experienced the hunger pains of those near starvation, but we all know what it is like to be thirsty and hungry. We know what it is like to be lost and helpless. In such a state, we quickly become frustrated and confused. When we finally find someone who can help us, a profound sense of relief washes over us. In this prayer, the psalmist described the people of Israel as hungry and lost. They called on God for help, and miraculously he answered. The psalmist expressed his gratitude by praising God and calling on everyone who was redeemed to speak out.

Has the Lord redeemed you? Are you excited about it? Take to heart the words of this psalm. Thank the Lord! Speak out! Tell others!

  • Dear Lord, thank you for redeeming me. Help me to speak out about what you have done . . .
