Praise To The Creator Of The Universe

Praise to the Creator of the Universe

You, O God, are my king from ages past,

bringing salvation to the earth.

You split the sea by your strength

and smashed the heads of the sea monsters.

You crushed the heads of Leviathan

and let the desert animals eat him.

You caused the springs and streams to gush forth,

and you dried up rivers that never run dry.

Both day and night belong to you;

you made the starlight and the sun.

You set the boundaries of the earth,

and you made both summer and winter.

Psalm 74:12-17

When the forces of nature disrupt our world—whether it’s a volcano, earthquake, or a flood—it inspires both awe and fear. No amount of human effort can stop the raging waters of a disastrous flood or the hot lava of a volcano. But God controls even these awesome forces. He is the one who created the earth, started it spinning on its axis, and determined its place in the solar system. The cycles of the seasons reflect his design. The variety of animal and plant species reflects his creative mind. Yet God’s greatest work is the salvation he provides to those who call on his name.

We do indeed serve an all-powerful God. Offer your praises to him.
