Honor To The King Of Nations

LORD, there is no one like you!

For you are great, and your name is full of power.

Who would not fear you, O King of nations?

That title belongs to you alone!

Among all the wise people of the earth

and in all the kingdoms of the world,

there is no one like you.

Jeremiah 10:6-7

Throughout history, cruel, egotistical dictators have risen to power in nations all over the earth. These despots live in wealth and splendor, while their subjects struggle to survive in poverty and hunger. They act and live as if they were gods over the people whom they rule with an iron fist. But the Bible tells us there is only one true King, and Jeremiah says that God alone is worthy of love, adoration, and worship. The title of King of nations, Jeremiah says, “belongs to you alone!”

Let us praise and exalt the name of the Lord God, who is not only King of all the earth, but also the one who causes other kings, presidents, rulers—and dictators—to rise and fall. Praise and adore the Lord, who is without equal.
