Praise For God’s Justice

To the faithful you show yourself faithful;

to those with integrity you show integrity.

To the pure you show yourself pure,

but to the wicked you show yourself hostile.

You rescue the humble,

but you humiliate the proud.

Psalm 18:25-27

David wrote this prayer after God had delivered him from his enemy Saul. David had refused to take Saul’s life on several occasions when he had the opportunity. Instead of taking justice into his own hands, David let God enact justice in his own way and in his own time. For this, God honored him.

God is truly the Chief Justice. Though the wicked may appear to be rewarded for their crimes, one day the Lord will make everything right, bringing down the arrogant and the wicked and lifting up the righteous. On that day believers will rejoice, for their Defender will have come at last.

Take this opportunity to praise your God for his justice.
