Praise For Answered Prayer

I give you thanks, O LORD, with all my heart;

I will sing your praises before the gods.

I bow before your holy Temple as I worship.

I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness;

for your promises are backed

by all the honor of your name.

As soon as I pray, you answer me;

you encourage me by giving me strength.

Psalm 138:1-3

God answers prayer. He is faithful. But all too often, we don’t look for the ways God is working in our lives. We abandon our prayers, stop anticipating answers, and forget to thank him for how he does answer. But David kept track of what he prayed for and how God had answered him. The long list of answered prayers in David’s life inspired him to thank the Lord with all his being. He sang his thanks to God, bowed before God in reverence, and offered an animal sacrifice as a thank offering. His thanksgiving included gestures and symbols, incense, and music.
