Moses Praises The Lord

Moses Praises the Lord

Who is like you among the gods, O LORD

glorious in holiness,

awesome in splendor,

performing great wonders?

You raised your right hand,

and the earth swallowed our enemies.

With your unfailing love you lead

the people you have redeemed.

In your might, you guide them

to your sacred home.

Exodus 15:11-13

Freedom at last! Precious freedom. The Israelites had been slaves in Egypt for years, but now they had just witnessed a miracle: God parted the Red Sea, allowing them to pass through and escape their oppressors. They were free from their slavery, and the Promised Land lay before them! Moses led the Israelites in praising their Victor. At this celebration of freedom, Moses reminded the Israelites why they were freed. They weren’t freed to do whatever they wanted. They were freed to serve God as his holy people. Moses asked that God might “guide” Them to that place.

Set aside some time to celebrate your freedom in Christ. Remember that you were freed from sin to serve God as his child.

  • Dear Lord, don’t let me stray from your path. Guide me to your sacred home . . .
