Who Made Whom?
WHO MADE WHOM?
Read 1 Chronicles 16:23-31.
When Jeff and his parents moved to Taiwan to help missionaries, Jeff discovered that everything was very strange. He was glad to meet William (his English name), who attended English classes at the mission.
“I show you town,” the black-haired boy said one day in his best English. The boys hopped on their bikes. Dodging people, other bikes, and trucks on the narrow streets, they pedaled around the small town. “Come,” said William as he parked his bike in front of a large building.
When William pushed open the door, Jeff gasped at what he saw. “God factory,” explained William, waving his hand at the rows and rows of half-made idols stacked on the floor of the warehouse. “My father makes. He paint faces. Very nice. Many people buy.”
Jeff couldn’t believe that people would make their own gods. How could pieces of wood help anybody? “Your father make gods?” asked William.
Jeff shook his head slowly. Trying to make William understand, he found himself talking just like him. “No, we not make gods. Our God make us!”
Jeff had always known that God had made him, but he had never thought that was anything so special before. Now he realized what a wonderful God he had! He was glad he knew the true God. Silently he prayed, Thank You, God, for making me. Help me tell William and others about You so they won’t have to worship an idol of wood that can’t even hear their prayers.
HOW ABOUT YOU?
Aren’t you glad you can know the real living God, who created the whole universe? There are still many people who don’t know Him. Begin in your own neighborhood by telling your friends what you know about God. Maybe someday He will allow you to carry His message to other lands.

Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.
