Go And Teach Them

GO AND TEACH THEM

Read Mark 1:15.

After traveling all day, Coretta and her parents stopped at a motel. “Dear God,” Coretta prayed at bedtime, “please help my friends Joy, Jasmine, and Cesar to accept You as their Savior.”

“Have you ever told your friends about Jesus?” Dad asked as he tucked Coretta in bed.

“Well, no,” Coretta replied.

“Prayer is important,” Mom said, “but we also need to talk to our friends about Jesus.”

After everyone had gone to sleep, a loud, blaring noise burst into the night. Coretta, Dad, and Mom jolted straight up in their beds.

“The car horn must be stuck,” Dad grumbled, half-asleep. He found the car keys, grabbed his bathrobe, and ran outside. He fumbled in the dark to get the key in the car door. He needed to get into the car to unlock the hood.

By then people in neighboring rooms were stirring. “You’re trying to open my car,” a man said. Dad was embarrassed to discover that his car was parked in the next space.

The next night Coretta again prayed, “Please help my friends accept Jesus as Savior.”

When Coretta was done, Mom asked, “Remember how Dad’s frantic efforts to turn off the horn last night were of no use? Just as Dad needed someone to point out his problem, your friends need you to explain their need for Jesus. Pray for them, and then witness to them.”

HOW ABOUT YOU?

Do you sit quietly while your friends run around seeking happiness in things that will not last? You need to pray and then tell others about Jesus.

TO MEMORIZE:

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
