Our Secret Sauce, My Recipe

FATHER GOD, we need a new recipe for our love affair. You have spoken to me, and I realize that I

need to invest in the rekindling of our friendship;

am not spending enough alone time with my husband;

often use a disrespectful tone or disparaging words with him; I am not always kind;

could be a better cheerleader for my husband;

could connect with him by reaching for his hand more often;

could improve our communication by calmly and clearly stating my position; and then, in turn, listening politely to his;

need to stop saying every stinkin’ thing I’m thinking;

need to gently let him know when he’s dispensing too much advice;

need to replace my feelings of desperation with adoration;

need to place a higher value on us than on other stuff;

need to feed Frankie.

Actions I will take:

Example: Tonight, as we watch TV, I will move to the sofa and reach for his hand.

Father, I thank you today for my husband. You have given me a precious gift, and I praise you for allowing me to spend my life with him. Take control of my will Lord, that I might be the wife to him that you want me to be. Give me patience, determination, and, Lord, help me be kind. Amen.
