You Will See God

You Will See God

God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.

Matthew 5:8

HAVE YOU EVER wondered what a pure heart might do for your life?

Purity is a word that’s often used in the area of sexuality, such as when a man or woman abstains from sex until marriage or remains faithful in marriage. But purity means more than that. It’s something that we can practice regardless of our age, marital status, or life situation. God values purity.

What exactly is purity? In short, it’s being clean on the inside. It goes beyond a sexual connotation. For instance, when pride or bitterness fills your mind, you snuff it out, refusing to dwell on it. When others curse, swear, put down, gossip, and otherwise tear up everyone else in their world, the pure refuse to participate. Instead, they keep their dignity, speak words of grace and kindness, and offer love and helping hands to those who have needs. They don’t allow their eyes to lust after the material things of this world.

Here on earth, none of us will ever achieve perfect purity. But it’s something to work toward. Fill your mind, heart, and life with good things, good habits, good words, and good deeds, and one day you will know God’s smile of approval.
