The Antichrist

The beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast—miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

Revelation 19:20

DO YOU EVER long for real justice in this world? Reading the news, Jon often marveled at the injustice he saw: a police officer sentenced to prison because a man struck him and he defended himself. A Christian in a Muslim country convicted and sentenced to death for “insulting the prophet” when it was merely a trumped-up charge against her because of her faith.

How many times injustice reigns in our world. Many probably wonder why Stalin, Hitler, serial killers, and so many others seemingly “get away with” their crimes and avoid answering to earthly courts. But such people aren’t listening to the truths of Scripture.

From the above passage, we see that God will call two of the worst criminals of all time—the Antichrist and the false prophet—to account for their deeds. And so he will with all other criminals.

You may not receive justice in this world. There are simply too many corrupt police officers, judges, politicians, and others. But one day, God promises to deliver final and perfect justice for everyone who rejected him and committed indecent acts. Count on it. In fact, you’ll be there to see it happen if you believe in Jesus.
